Born Into This

I was born in 1955 at the infancy of the TV monster craze. I was delivered at birth by my cousin Dr. Arthur Haddad who was John Zacherle's (Roland/Zacherley) brother-in-law, so you might say I had a hand up on the monster biz at a very young age. My grandfather's cousin was Dwain Esper (exploitation guru) of Freaks fame.

I started collecting seriously in the 1970's and am still at it today in 2025. In 2001, I started a monthly column for Movie Collector's World dubbed "How To Collect a Monster" which ran for ten years consecutively. I traveled from MA, to NY, NJ, PA, IL, and on to Universal Studios in Los Angeles for Carla Laemmle's red carpet 100 birthday celebration at the Egyptian Theater.

I met almost every horror-monster celebrity that was alive at the time. It was the thrill of a lifetime. I have amassed hundreds of posters, lobby cards, stills, pressbooks, promos and everything beyond. I am now, at almost 70, starting to liquidate my collection, for as we know, no one lives forever.
