MOVIE REVIEW: SINISTER (2012)
This week, we’re diving into one of the creepiest horror movies of the 2010s—Sinister. This movie is all about atmosphere, disturbing imagery, and a villain that sticks with you long after the credits roll. It’s a slow burn, but when it gets scary, it really gets scary.
Monsters/Villains: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (8.4)
Bughuul (aka Mr. Boogie) is straight-up nightmare fuel. He’s barely on screen, but every time he shows up, it’s unsettling. The real horror comes from the old film reels—those “home videos” are some of the most disturbing scenes in modern horror.
Actors/Characters: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (7.9)
Ethan Hawke does a solid job as true-crime writer Ellison Oswalt. He makes you believe in his obsession, even when it starts to ruin his life. The supporting characters are decent, but this is Hawke’s movie all the way.
Story: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (8.2)
The idea of a cursed box of film reels leading to something much worse is a great setup. The pacing is slow at times, but the mystery keeps you hooked. And that ending? Brutal.
Joe’s Score: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (8.5)
Sinister is one of the scariest movies of the last decade. It’s creepy, disturbing, and full of tension. If you like horror that sticks with you, this one’s a must-watch!
