MOVIE REVIEW: DIAL M FOR MURDER!
This week, we’re reviewing Dial M for Murder, another Hitchcock thriller that proves you don’t need big action scenes to create tension. This movie is all about suspense, clever dialogue, and a killer plan that (almost) works. It may not be as flashy as Rear Window, but it’s a smart, gripping ride from start to finish.
Monsters/Villains: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (7.9)
Ray Milland plays Tony Wendice, a guy with a plan to get rid of his wife—and he’s scary because of how calm he is about it. He’s not a typical villain, but he’s cold, clever, and always thinking a few steps ahead. Watching him try to cover his tracks is one of the best parts of the movie.
Actors/Characters: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (8.4)
Grace Kelly is fantastic as Margot, the wife who gets caught in Tony’s scheme. She’s elegant, emotional, and makes you root for her. Ray Milland is smooth but creepy as Tony, and John Williams (the detective, not the composer) is great as the smart, mustache-twirling inspector who starts piecing things together.
Story: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (8.6)
This is a movie that slowly pulls you in and keeps you hooked. Tony’s plan is detailed and seems foolproof—until things start going wrong. It’s not action-packed, but every scene builds tension, and the way it all plays out is super satisfying.
Joe’s Score: 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖 (8.3)
Dial M for Murder is a smart and suspenseful thriller. It’s not as fast-paced as some other Hitchcock films, but it’s packed with great performances and a tense, well-crafted story. If you like a good mystery with a brilliant setup and payoff, this one is a must-watch!
