MAJOR PICTO SPOTLIGHT: FLETCHER HANKS POPSICLE DECK

Fletcher Hanks was a twisted genius whose work in the Golden Age of comics stands out as both bizarre and visionary. Known for creating surreal, almost nightmarish superhero tales in the late 1930s and early 40s, his stories were filled with brutal, god-like heroes who meted out disturbing and often violent justice. Hanks' crude yet mesmerizing art, combined with wild, unpredictable plotlines, gave his comics an otherworldly, fever-dream quality that was unlike anything else of the era. His creations like Stardust the Super Wizard and Fantomah, Mystery Woman of the Jungle, feel like dark, twisted reflections of the emerging superhero genre, and even today, his work is regarded as both unsettling and undeniably brilliant.

We’ve re-worked a couple of his panels & formatted them to fit on a series of skateboard decks, like this one here.
